Radiology and Ultrasound

At the Vets has a full onsite digital x-ray and ultrasound facility.

Radiology is a rapid diagnostic method, providing immediate results. This means faster answers and, ultimately, faster treatment for your pet. Radiology can help us investigate a variety of health concerns, from detecting fractures or foreign bodies to assessing the health of vital organs. It’s a fundamental part of our commitment to your pet’s well-being.

Radiology provides a non-invasive and precise way to examine your pet’s internal structures, from bones and joints to organs and soft tissues. It’s an indispensable tool for diagnosing a wide range of conditions and injuries.

Our clinic utilises the latest Carestream Vita Digital X-ray unit which offers higher image quality, less exposure to radiation, and the ability to share images quickly for consultation or referrals if necessary.

Digital dental radiology

Pet dental radiology allows us to explore beneath the surface and gain invaluable insights into your pet’s oral health. This non-invasive procedure helps identify issues that may be hidden from the naked eye. Dental radiology can detect hidden dental problems, such as dental abscesses, fractures, periodontal disease, or tooth root issues. This diagnostic tool enables us to formulate a tailored and effective treatment plan for your pet.

We utilise state-of-the-art IM3 dental radiography, which minimises exposure to radiation, offers high-quality images, and allows for swift analysis. Our focus is always on your pet’s safety and well-being. Routine dental radiology is an essential part of our dental services, enabling us to detect issues in their early stages and take preventive measures to maintain your pet’s oral health. Our skilled veterinary team includes experienced dental professionals who are adept at interpreting dental radiographs and making accurate assessments.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography is a non-invasive imaging technique that enables us to explore your pet’s internal structures, including organs and soft tissues. It provides us with real-time, detailed images that are instrumental in diagnosing various medical conditions. Our ultrasound equipment delivers superior image quality and enhances our diagnostic capabilities. This technology allows for a deeper understanding of your pet’s health.

Pet ultrasonography is essential for diagnosing a wide range of conditions, from detecting tumours and assessing organ health to monitoring pregnancies and guiding minimally invasive procedures. Ultrasonography is a gentle, non-painful procedure that sometimes doesn’t require anaesthesia, ensuring minimal stress for your pet.

Our vet Holly performs most of our ultrasound examinations. Holly keeps up with the latest techniques and has undergone extra study in this area to ensure a thorough examination & diagnosis can be made.
