Kittens

Adopting a new kitten is very exciting, but can be a bit overwhelming at the same time. At the Vets want to take the stress out of keeping your kitten healthy with our healthcare package. Just make a one off payment and we will organise the rest for you, leaving you more time for kitten snuggles!

Our Kitten Package includes:

Visit 1

  • Full health check
  • Core vaccination and FIV vaccination. Making sure your kitten is fully vaccinated is very important to keep them in tip top shape. We will vaccinate your kitten against Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia and Chlamydiosis. (Felocell 4 vaccine) These are all respiratory or viral infections which can make your kitten very unwell.
Feline aids (FIV) is spread through saliva and blood from infected cats. Any cat that goes outside is at a much higher risk of contracting the virus which is highly contagious. FIV can attack the immune system and cause lethargy, anorexia, fever and eventually death. There is currently no cure, so vaccinating against FIV is the best treatment we can give our cats. FIV infection rates vary between areas, but appear to currently run at around 10-15% of cats being infected.
  • Nexgard Spectra flea & worm treatment
  • Microchip implant and NZCAR registration. Microchipping your kitten is so important! If your kitten happens to wander off once they are going outside, the best way to track you down is through their microchip. All Vets, rescue organizations and Councils have access to microchip scanners which will identify your pets’ details, and all of your contact details, making it easy to reunite you with one another. We will register your pet on the NZ Companion Animal Register making your details easy to find.
