Rodent Medicine

Here, At the Vets we love all creatures great and small and the smaller the better as far as Helen is concerned! Guinea pigs, rats, mice, chinchillas- we love them all.

We are confident with medicine, routine surgery such as desexing, more complex surgery such as lump removals, imaging, dentistry and of course anaesthesia. Our experienced nurses and specialised equipment allow us to provide a safe and high standard of care for these patients.

Unlike rabbits, these rodents don’t need vaccinations, but we do recommend regular health checks to make sure they are in tip top condition and their health and welfare needs are being met. They are small and delicate, with shorter lifespans than our other pets which means that things can change quickly and prevention or early detection of disease is very important.
