    At the Vets is a Gold Standard Cat Friendly clinic.   We are currently the only veterinary clinic in Christchurch to have achieved the International Cat Care standard and be accredited.

  • Zoe – our head nurse wins Petplan’s Vet Nurse of the Year.

    Our fantastic Head Nurse Zoe is one of 5 finalists for Petplan’s Vet Nurse of the Year and was voted as the overall winner!
    Here’s what Zoe has to say about being a Vet Nurse:

    “Everyday I wake up I am excited to go to work, and absolutely adore our patients and clients that I have come to know and love so well.
    My particular areas of interest are animal nutrition and mental health / compassion fatigue in our Vets and Nurses, which I have made a huge focus in our clinic.
    My team is made up of amazing, passionate Vets and Nurses who constantly work together supporting one another, and make patient care our top priority. It’s a pleasure to be part of this team and this industry.”

    2) She runs one of the most successful Pet Fat Fighter’s club in NZ!
    3) She has a special interest in Nutrition and has participated in many courses to learn more about nutrition in various stages of dog/cat life, as well as in disease states.
    4) She makes sure the clinic runs smoothly every day and is meticulous and compassionate in patient care.
    5) She gives exceptional customer service and expects the same from all staff.
    6) She looks after the staff’s mental health and helps them to set personal and professional goals by doing compassion fatigue/stress surveys and 3-monthly meetings with each individual.
    7) She encourages all the nurses to participate in nurses’ education evenings, where we can further our knowledge and skills.

  • Our nurse Becky is a finalist in the NZVNA vet nurse of the year awards

    We are very proud of Becky for making the top three in the NZ Veterinary Nurse Association annual Nurse of the Year Awards.

    We want to share with you some awesome facts about Becky.

    1) She started our clinic’s Puppy Preschool (after participating in puppy training and dog behaviour courses).
    2) She has done voluntary vet nursing work in Tonga twice for South Pacific Animal Welfare.
    3) Becky is usually found singing, chatting to, walking, or cuddling our patients.
    4) Becky is always looking out for our patient’s pain relief, comfort and care.
    5) She runs the Palliative Care clinic (support for chronic medical conditions).
    6) She plays Netball (and won most improved this year)
    7) She is studying for the Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
    8) Becky has a great sense of humor and works super hard!

    She travelled to Auckland during October for the awards ceremony and came away the runner up!   An amazing effort and well deserved!

Drop Off Service

We offer a drop off service where you can drop your pet off at the clinic while you are at work

we can then either treat your pet while you are at work, or wait until you can have a consultation with a vet after work.
